Cutting up dugong is like an artistic skill. We Torres Strait Islanders call it Dangal Pugai. The mask on top means that from generation to generation the skill is handed down from Islander to Islander. Today we are still cutting up dugong the same way our forefathers did – Dangal-Pugai
