Description
Mask of the Sea represents the marine animals / totems of the sea in the Torres Straits, north of Australia. This mask reflects Augud (God) who created all things. The sea creatures are totemic ancestors from which Zenadth Kes Islanders have originated. My totems on my patrilineal line is Kurrs (hammershead shark) and on my matrilineal line is Kodal (the crocodile). Totems depicted on the mask are:

Sugu – octopus
Kurup – rock cod
Gai Gai – whitefish
Dangal – dugong
Waru – green turtle
Gapu – suckerfish
