Description
I am a Yidinji/Wik/Djabugay woman
strong and enduring like a tree
like the mountains and land
fresh water meeting the salt water sea.
The earth strengthens the foundation of the roots of a tree
embedded with Mother Nature
echoing my ancestors’ languages and dialects
and recognizing my ancient country.
The tree’s mother
heard my voice at once
knowing I am a descendant
of the freshwater and the saltwater
I am the fresh air
I am my sacred land.
